All young adults (18-30) are welcome to join us for our Christmas Open House on Monday, December 1st from 6-9pm at the Dyer's Home in West Ghent Norfolk. Address is 1056 Brandon Ave Norfolk, VA 23507. There will be Christmas cheer and jubilee! At some point in the evening, we will take an evening stroll through the lovely West Ghent neighborhood to look at Christmas lights! Hot cocoa will be provided, but plan to dress warm if you join us for the walk.

For parking: Please be mindful of neighbors and driveways! There are several one way roads in the neighborhood, so be sure to pay attention as you arrive. We recommend carpooling if you can!

Our aim for this Vision Sunday is to clearly present where God is leading Big House Church as we prepare for 2026. This specific Sunday morning gathering is about unity in the spirit, clarity on the plan, and inspiring each person to see their part in the body as we move forward together.

Big House Church believes in the value of prophetic encouragement for the building up of the body of Christ. It has been a vision of ours to begin incorporating more opportunities into our church calendar to invite people to be blessed and prophesied over by leaders in our church!

If you’ like to be encouraged, then we invite you to sign up for a time slot for Saturday, November 1st between 9am - 12pm at the Annex to come and get a prophetic word from our team! Church attendees will be able to sign up for a 10-minute session with a team of three prophetic prayer ministers. During each session, the ministers will ask only for the person’s name, and then each will have three minutes to pray and share what the Holy Spirit is speaking. Attendees will be encouraged to record their words and take them to the Lord in prayer!

This event is led by one of our elders Frank Meadows, and Pastor Matt Ruckel. We’re excited and expectant to see how God pours out His love on His people during the event!

BH Youthhhhh! Plan to join us for our annual costume party on Wednesday, October 29 at youth group! There will be $150 in cash prizes for the winners. We will celebrate our month of communion and royal priesthood by sharing a Seder meal together. :)

Big House Women! You are invited to our next Harbor gathering on Friday, October 24th at 7 PM at New Life TOWN CENTER in Virginia Beach! This event is for the women of Big House and all of Hampton Roads. Bring a gal pal and don’t miss this night!

WHAT IS HARBOR?
Harbor is a quarterly corporate gathering of the women of Big House Church and beyond to connect in worship, protect one another through prayer & grow together in the word and the sharing of stories. our launch event will take place at the New Life Church TOWN CENTER location in the sanctuary from 7-10 PM.

CHILDCARE

This will be a normal Campus Ministries UnChapel experience in Regent University’s Shaw Chapel, featuring engaging worship and student testimonies of God’s faithfulness. It’s an incredible chance for your youth to witness young leaders living out their faith and to be inspired to deepen their own commitment to Christ.

After our church services at 9 & 11 AM, come join us in East Beach Norfolk on the Chesapeake Bay for beach baptisms and a time to relax and fellowship together! Bring your beach chairs, umbrellas, snacks, and the whole gang for a day at the bay in East Beach of Norfolk.

There is street parking throughout the East Beach neighborhood, just please be mindful of residents and their homes. We will be located between 27th & 28th Bay Street & E Beach Street access point to the bay. See directions below!

All families and BHKids volunteers are welcome to join us at the bay in East Beach anytime between 3:30-7:30pm on Sunday, August 31st. Bring all your beach chairs, towels, games, and your own dinner! This is a time to have fellowship and celebrate our final days of summer as school starts again.

• Students who are now in 6th Grade will graduate from Big House Kids, attend service with parents, and are invited to join BHYouth on Wednesdays.

• Students who are 3 Years old and fully potty-trained are welcome to join the Pre-K Class (Kids Lobby at end of the Hallway) at any time!

BHYouth will be joined by Living Room for this special evening of celebrating our new 6th graders into youth group and our graduated high school seniors into the young adult community!

Pizza will be provided! There will be lots of beach fun and a time to honor our rising students.

This workshop exists to equip the church to share with people who Jesus is, what He has done, and why it matters in their lives. This will be a day of training and outreach as a church community and will focus on overcoming the fear of man, loving others, practical steps to share the Gospel, praying for the sick, and much more. It’s the church of Jesus becoming love.

Every August we take a moment to rest from our weekly ministries as our students prepare for another school year and to give our staff and leaders a moment to be refreshed and rejuvenated as well!

We will not have youth group on Wednesdays August 6th, 13th, and 20th and will resume for our last Bay Day of the summer on Wednesday, August 27!

YOUNG ADULTS!!! For the 5th Wednesday of July, we're going to a Norfolk Tides Baseball Game! Peanuts, hot dogs, lemonade, and a grand ol' summer American time await us and we’d love to for you to join. Tickets are $25 each.

On Pentecost Sunday, we are excited to have one combined service at 10 AM at the Virginia Beach Convention Center down by the oceanfront. There is LOTS of space so plan to bring the whole family and invite your friends for this service all together! Kids Church will still be available for Nursery-5th grade on the 2nd floor.

When you arrive, parking is directly across and beside the Convention Center, then just look for our team and signs to locate our hall when you arrive.

We have slightly bummer news, but we're going to make the most of it!... Due to potential weather this Sunday and having tor risk cancelling, we are relocating our Church at the Park event to an indoor location.

We've decided to pivot to an evening combined 4pm service at New Life Deep Creek Campus in Chesapeake! We will have worship, communion, and baptisms as planned followed by pizza, salad, and ice cream donated by Kilwins🍦

Due to this last minute change, BHKids ministry will not be provided for this family service. Thankfully, the sanctuary has plenty of room for you and your family!
