In these groups, we gather in homes across our cities to build authentic relationships, grow in God’s Word, and walk through life together. This is where discipleship becomes personal, where people are seen, cared for, encouraged, and challenged to become more like Christ.
But our groups are not just inward-focused. As we grow in relationship with one another, we are also sent outward. Each group exists not only to know and be known, but to make known, living on mission, serving our communities, and inviting others into the life and love of Jesus.

Meet your Community Life Pastor
Hi! My name is Adam Johnson and I wanted to share a little of my story with you as your Community Life Pastor. I was born in Sioux City, Iowa, and raised in a suburb of Dallas, Texas. I grew up in a Christian home and learned what it meant to be a good person, but I didn’t truly know Jesus as Lord of my life. In February 2012, while in La Jolla, California, I had a radical encounter with God that completely changed the direction of my life and faith.
My wife, Jeanelle, and I moved to Norfolk, Virginia, at the end of 2019 so she could attend Eastern Virginia Medical School. In 2020, through prayer and the Holy Spirit’s conviction, I felt called to fully give my gifts and talents to the church and serve the house of the Lord. After faithfully serving, I stepped into full-time vocational ministry as the Youth Pastor at Big House Church for 5 years, then transitioned to Community Life Pastor in 2026.
I love pointing people to the presence of God, equipping the saints for the work of ministry, and seeing lives transformed through discipleship and the preaching of the Gospel. I have a deep love for shepherding people, raising up the next generation, and helping both the lost and the saved walk closely with Jesus. I am here to serve the vision and mission He’s given to all of us: to know God, know one another, and go make disciples of all nations.
Jeanelle and I have been married for 11 years, and we have boys together who keep life full and fun. Outside of ministry, I love studying the life of Jesus, sharing the Gospel, spending time in the garden, working out, eating good food, and being with family and friends.
