To cultivate a community of passionate worshippers who partner with Jesus to create Kingdom culture on earth as it is in heaven.
Core Values
1. Love God - We believe in one true God who created all things and sustains all things. We believe God has revealed himself as a Divine Trinity throughout Scripture: God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son, and the Holy Spirit. We believe that God desires intimate relationship with us. By faith we can cultivate personal relationship with God through worship, prayer and scripture. To know and spread God's love is the highest aim of humanity.
2. Love People - We believe in family and we value people because we are all made in the image of God. Through faith in Jesus Christ we have been cleansed from sin and brought near to God and called sons and daughters of God. Big House is committed to growing authentic community through the love of Jesus Christ and encouraging the unique gifts and calling of each individual.
3. Worship - We value worship in all its creative forms for its ability to unveil the glory and goodness of God. God is spirit and those who worship do so in spirit and in the truth that Jesus Christ is the son of the Living God. Artistry and Creativity play an essential role in shaping the shared values, culture and course of society. Big House is a seedbed for artists and creative expression.
4. Spiritual Formation - We value the partnership between followers of Jesus and the Holy Spirit through the use of spiritual gifts. Supernatural encounters with the presence of God are crucial catalysts for personal and cultural transformation. We believe God's power flows through his people by faith and we are empowered to build the Kingdom of God on the earth as it is in heaven. Spiritual Formation is all about being transformed in to the image of God, and that will bring the deepest level of freedom and peace that will release you into your calling.
What we believe
Word of God - The Holy Bible, and only the Bible, is the authoritative Word of God. It alone is the final authority in determining all doctrinal truths. It is inspired by God and without error in its original writings, and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26; Hebrews 4:12
God – We believe there is one God revealed in three distinct persons: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 43:10-11; Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 2:18; Matthew 3:16-17
Man – We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are in need of salvation and redemption. Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Psalm 51:5; Romans 7:15; Ephesians 2:1-2
Divinity and Humanity of Christ – We believe that Jesus is the Messiah, He is God come in the flesh and is both divine and human. He lived a sinless life and died as the sacrifice for the sins of the world. Ephesians 1:3-5; Romans 5:1-11; Acts 4:12; 1 Peter 1:18-19; John 1:1, 14; Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:6-8; Hebrews 4:15
Bodily Resurrection – We believe in the bodily resurrection and physical return of Jesus Christ and the bodily resurrection of the saints. Luke 24:38-43; John 20:24-29; 1 Corinthians 15:52-53
Salvation - We believe that salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. It involves repentance from sin and a personal, heartfelt trust in Him, resulting in new life. Salvation is a gift of God, not earned by works. Ephesians 2:6-10; Romans 5:1; Acts 3:19-20; John 3:36; Romans 10:9-10
Second Coming - We believe in the visible, bodily return of Christ to this earth to judge the world and to claim His Bride. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 1:7
Church – We believe that the church is the family of God, a spiritual house of believers. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of Christ, and should assemble regularly. Matthew 16:18; Acts 20:28; 1 Peter 2:5; Hebrews 10:24-25
Heaven and Hell – We believe in heaven for the saved and hell for the unsaved. John 14:1-3; Revelation 20:11-15
Holy Spirit – We believe the Holy Spirit to be the third person of the Godhead who is active in the world today. The Spirit indwells and seals the believer at new birth. We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a subsequent experience and is available to all Christians to empower us to be witnesses. We believe in and encourage the use of the gifts of the Spirit. Baptism - We believe that all followers of Christ should be baptized in water of their own volition as an act of obedience and identification with Jesus Christ, through which God brings about real spiritual transformation. Acts 2:38; Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:3-4; Colossians 2:12; Matthew 3:15
Communion - We believe that followers of Christ should regularly share in the Lord’s Supper as a living act of remembrance, participation, and proclamation. In this sacred place, instituted by Christ, we encounter His presence and are nourished and strengthened by His grace. Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26
Marriage and Human Sexuality- We believe God created two biological genders, male and female. Marriage is a covenant and a sacred bond instituted by and publicly entered into before God and instituted as part of God’s created order for all mankind. Sexual intimacy is reserved exclusively for marriage between one man and one woman, and any deviation from this biblical design is contrary to God’s will.
