When we pray, He answers

Jeremiah 33:3 (MSG) ‘Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’

Jeremiah 33:10–11 (ESV):. . . there shall be heard again 11 the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride, the voices of those who sing, as they bring thank offerings to the house of the Lord: “ ‘Give thanks to the Lord of hosts, for the Lord is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!’

The Lord is in the revelation business. When we pray He answers. When we can’t figure out what is next, pray. His answer is marvelous and wonderful. God’s promise of revelation to Jeremiah was in the midst of uncertain times. Jeremiah was directed to purchase land for the long term in spite of the times because God promised a preferred future. When we pray this month, we concentrate not on the confusion of the present, but the constance of the promise. In the mean time we will pray, forgive, reach out, call out and listen to wondrous things from our Heavenly Father.

Prayer: Father, as we consider our future direction, grant us the spirit of wisdom and revelation. When You have spoken to us give us the courage to act. Help us to reach the lost, strengthen families, transform our community, and promote the unity of the churches in Hampton Roads. We want to hasten the coming of Jesus by our actions. We long for You to manifest Your presence and display Your glory. Thank you for the promise of the coming of Christ. AMEN
